Coming of age ceremony!

On January 10, I took part in a coming of age ceremony. I got up early. I wanted to sleep longer, but I had to a beauty shop to have my hair done. I had a make-up artist makeup. When I wore kimono, it was so tight. And I went to a hall with my friends from junior high school. There were many people there. And I met many friends, so I took our pictures. After coming of age ceremony, I went to a class reunion. I was happy that I met many teachers again. We talked about junior high school hood with them. I spent good day!

I read a book titled “Eggs and Chicks” This book is divided into 17 contents. When I read this book, I was interested in birds. Do you know how to make nests? You can find how to make it as you read this book. Most birds take care of their chicks as they grow.

First, I will tell you about nests. Most birds build nests to keep their eggs safe. Most nests are made by moss, roots and grass. They collect many materials. And I found there are many kinds of nest. A hummingbird’s nest is tiny. It is made from cobwebs and plants. And weaverbirds build grass nests that hang from branches. But some birds don’t lay their eggs in a nest. They lay them in different places. Black skimmers lay their eggs on sandy beaches. Flamingos lay their eggs on mounds of mud.

Next, I will tell you about eggs. Birds need to keep their eggs warm so a chick can grow inside. An emperor penguin balances its egg on its feet. Its body keeps the egg warm. There are many how to warm eggs. I will tell you about inside an egg. When an egg is laid, a chick starts to grow inside. The red spot on the yolk starts to grow into a chick. The yolk contains food which helps the chick to grow. The chick grows bigger. The white protects the chick. Chicks take from 10days to 75 days to grow inside an egg.

That way, chicks grow. I thought they are strong. I thought I eat many eggs with thanks. I recommend this book to you.

BR2-17 "Weather"

I read this book titled “Weather” This book is divided into 17 contents. There are many kinds of weather. Do you say all kinds of weather? I interested in weather when I read this book. So I recommend it you.

First, I will tell you about kind of weather. The weather is caused by three main things. There are heat, water and air. Water is always moving between the sea, the air and the land. This is called the water cycle. I will tell about the water cycle.
1. The sun warms the water in the sea and turns it into an invisible gas.
2. The gas rises and turns into tiny droplets of water, making clouds.
3. The tiny droplets bump into each other and join together to make bigger drops.
4. When the drops of water become heavy enough they fall as rain.
5. Rivers carry the rainwater back to the sea. The water cycle begins again.

Second, I will tell about electric skies. Thunderstorms happen when a cumulonimbus cloud forms in the sky. Strong winds inside the cloud swirl rain, snow and hailstones up and down. This makes electricity build up. It escapes down to the ground as flashes of lightning. Lightning sometimes hits trees and buildings on its way from the cloud to the ground.

I thought the weather is interesting because they always change everyday. Today is sunny, but tomorrow may be rainy. And there are many methods to forecast the weather. So I try to forecast the weather.

I read this book titled “Planet Earth” This book is written about all of the earth. This book is divided into 17 contents.

First, I will tell you about earth. Do you know there are eight planets in space? And can you say there name? This book taught me about it. The earth is kept the planet warm by the sun. And there are people, animals on the earth. Sometimes, the Earth moves. This is earthquake. There are many earthquakes in Japan.

Second, I will tell you about many kinds of mountain. There are many mountains on the earth. The Himalayas is the highest mountain on the Earth. And a volcano is one of the mountains. Some people in Hawaii think that the goddess of fire lives in a volcano. Volcanoes erupt in different ways. Violent eruptions fling ash and gas high into the sky. Sometimes volcanoes throw out lumps of hot, sticky lava. Some volcanoes spray runny lava from a long crack in the ground.

Third, I will tell you about deep water. There are many animals in oceans and seas. Oceans and seas cover more than half of the Earth. Lots of creatures live near the surface, where it is light and the water is warm. Deeper down it is darker and colder. Fewer things can live here. Sperm whales dive deep down looking for squid to eat.

Finally, I understood about all of the Earth. We live on the Earth. So I thought we should keep beautiful Earth forever.

I read this book titled “Bruno’s Tea” This book is divided into four chapters. First, I’ll tell you about 1st chapter. There was shop of tea in one country. One day, a boy whose name is Chan was asked to make delivery by his father. So he went to Mr. Green’s house. When he arrived at Mr. Green’s house, he knocked on Mr. Green’s door. But there was no reply. He thought it was strange. So he decided to leave Mr. Green’s order by the back door. His dad always said not to go inside a customer’s house, but he took a deep breath, and stepped into Mr. Green’s hall.

When he stepped into Mr. Green’s house, there were many car parts and tools everywhere. Suddenly, he heard Bruno’s whimper. It was coming from the back of the garage. So he said moving closer, “Mr. Green!” and he heard “It’s me, Chen” Then he found Mr. Green was lying. So he helped Mr. Green.

When he backed his home, he told his dad about that. And he said to his dad that he wanted to be a mechanic. Then he had Mr. Green teaches about car. This is good story because he could tell his dad about truth his feeling.

I read this book titled “Buzz Sees the difference” This story is divided into five chapters. On day, Buzz and Zip were at the beach when the president of planet Zero rang. They look so strange. They decided to attend the peace conference. Two days later, they landed their spaceship at the conference centre on planet Seven. There were many strange monsters at the peace conference.

When they entered the conference room, they felt hungry. As they found a food stand, they decided to buy a food. But the food looked very strange, but tasted quite good. Buzz saw many monsters. Every he saw a strange monster, he was surprised at them. Finally, Buzz found his seat next to Zip. They found there is many kinds’ monster in the world.

When the conference started, someone shouted “There’s a bomb in here! Run!!” So everyone ran away. But one strange creature was still in his seat. So he touched the strange creature. He first touched anything like this creature. But this creature smiled so he couldn’t help smiling back.

I thought so. There is much kind of people too. So I thought we should understand each other. And smiling is the most important for communication.

I read this book titled “Fire Ready” This story is divided into four chapters. First, I’ll tell you about Chapter 1 “Saturday” One Saturday, Luca who was a boy put the dry sun burnt leaves in the bin. Then it began to rain. But he liked rainy day because he could sit and look out the window. On day, he was clearing away the breakfast because his mum would be tired. I thought he was so kind. Even after all these months, he suddenly stopped because the announcer said “Fire-fighter warn spot fires at the base of the mountain may spread.” He looked surprised.

As soon as he heard the announcement, he began to ready getting away. At first, he blocked the down pipes with gutter plugs. He was so smart. When his family gathered, they talked about their plan. There were many plans. The week after, his mum put weather stripping on the inside of all the doors and windows. And the week after that, he was there to give her hand when she put leaf guards over the gutters.

When he smelt the smoke, he backed his home. Inside the house, he moved quickly. First, he shut all the doors and windows. Next, he took towels and woolen blankets from the hall cupboard. Finally, with the last of the blankets over him, he got down low on the floor, and waited. The listening to the fire roar outside, he wondered how his mum would cope if she lost him, too. Before the fire-fighter arrived there, he finished wetting down the house.

For days, there was news report after news report, describing how he had saved the cottage and himself while his mum took shelter at the local hall. I thought he was so smart. Then there was Luca’s quote in the paper, too. “Sometimes stuff just happens. There7s nothing you can do to change it, and that’s hard. But when you’re prepared, at least you’re in there with a chance.”
